Robert Nevin's history and qualifications
Having completed a BA Honours Degree at the University of Manchester in Art and Architectural History, I trained for a year as a general valuer at an auction house in Shrewsbury, Shropshire.
In 2003 I completed a Master's Degree in Fine Art Valuation at the Southampton Institute. During this time I opened a small shop and antiques business in Winchester, a stone’s throw from the cathedral.
From here I started to sell silver to the public and gain clients both locally and further afield.
Between 2005 and 2018 I worked as a consultant in silver for a leading provincial auction house. My role involved the cataloguing of specialist silver sales, liaising with clients and assisting with probate and insurance valuations.
I exhibit at a number of regular antique fairs mainly in the London area. To include the monthly Adam's Antiques Fair or the 'Horti' as it is affectionately known, held at the Royal Horticultural Hall in Westminster. Also the 'Ally Pally' held at the historical Alexandra Palace (4 times a year). I also exhibit fortnightly at the Sunbury Antiques Fair at Kempton Park Racecourse.
